Social War

In 91 BCE a group of Italian allies declared war on Rome. The Italians had a host of grievances stemming from preferential treatment by Rome toward Roman citizens, and some other high humiliations. In the end, Rome won the war, but settled on giving most Italians citizenship.

The coin shown is in the image was minted by a moneyer named Quintus Titius around 90 BCE. Draped and winged bust of Victory and Pegasus. This coin is not in reference to the Social War, but it’s from around the same time period.
